Workshops
welcome

Here are some of the latest workshops that we worked on with our amazing artists at Nathuu

Through our thoughtfully curated bi-monthly Art Education Program workshops, we aim to equip children with the ability to tap into their emotions and express themselves creatively. Our first few Art workshops were about ‘Feeling and Emotions’ where we made emotion play cards and an emotion dice to play a guessing game – ‘Act out Emotion’ with kids, where they were supposed to act out the emotions shown to them and then finally, they were asked to draw how they are feeling. Emotions are an essential part of everyday human experience. But for a small child, big feelings can be scary and overwhelming. Teaching a child how to identify and validate their emotional experience can help eliminate undue stress and anxiety, enabling the child to function to full developmental capacity. According to latest studies, Emotional intelligence or an individual’s ability to identify, evaluate, control and express emotions is a better indicator to success and leadership than IQ. Children with higher EQ are better equipped to pay attention, are more engaged, have more positive relationship and are more empathic. Research shows that emotional intelligence can actually be taught to children and one way of doing this is by modelling the RULER skills for them. Teach them to Recognize (how am I feeling?), Understand (what caused it?), Label (what word describes my feeling?), Express (how to effectively express what I feel?) and Regulate (what to do to maintain or shift my feeling?). A chunk of the profits generated will go directly to the SOS Hermann Gmeiner School, Multan.
